Have you ever considered comparing yourself to a garden hose which has water flowing through it? In a way, I hope you haven't because it could be a strange thought to consider on a day to day basis. But if you are thinking about your life and what you can do to change it, then this analogy is completely relevant.

Evaluate how water flows from a hosepipe – it is not possible to change the direction of the water flow without 'doing something else'. You require additional tools (be it your own finger or a u-bend for example) to force the water to flow in a different direction. And it could take consistent effort to ensure that the water continues to flow in its new direction.

The same principle applies regarding life.

Are you in the place that you want to be financially and emotionally? Are you a person who naturally sees the down side to situations rather than the opportunities? Do you see obstacles or do you see stepping stones?

You have already taken the first step to help you move forward in a new direction if you can identify what you need to do to change the way you see things. So, when do you intend to start doing what you've identified? Make sure you acknowledge any steps that move you forward and recognise your wins.
